Inside The Beezer 13th Feb 1988 featuring the first Club 5 and The Beezers (Sting the bee!)

A Wham Bar given free...plus two new characters join The Beezer in this issue!
I like True Brit and the Silly Party! Shame it didn't last that long...

Brian Walker does a nice Pop, Dick and Harry. Also a funny story!

Not sure who drew this...I know Steve Bright did later on..
Free gifts means new readers so comic page characters are reintroduced.

Barrie's work is always good fun in this era..Cuddles and Dimples on holiday!
I bet Barrie loved drawing this!

 I'm in love with Marina!

John Geering
The pages are lot more focussed on the characters and less detailed backgrounds...not so keen..
 Gordon Bell
Just like Young Sid the page has a small strip on the page..

I like comic characters enjoying the free gift from the comic..

Bob Dewar who drew Joe King in the Beano

Love the way Joe is pointing to Luke as he is talking about him...breaking the frame between the two.

Joe King from Beano annual 1999. In the Beano comic readers sent in there jokes for Joe King to say.

A great long story about The Beano bugs in the Beano annual 2001. Great fun all the many legs and arms!

The Numbskulls in the Beano annual 2001. You need to read the story across 2 pages..

Another Lumpy Gibbon from Plug number 11 1977. Love the surrealness of it.

Bob also drew Bimbo inside the Bimbo comic 60's early 70's.

Anyone know any info on Bob please let me know in the comments. When he started...whats his first comic work...other characters he drew in comics..etc..

Bob Dewar who drew Splodge...Whacko..in the 90's

Beezer annual 1999 great colour mix..

Great looking tree house Splodge has...Bob is great at the comic posters.

Great long story this is...leading to this great poster of where the jellymen live.

The Jellymen are back in The Beezer annual 1996. Great fun it is as well!

Dandy annual 1990. Its nice seeing old characters being brought back in a fun way. Thats what I like about The Beezer, Dandy and Topper annuals of the 90's.

From The Dandy annual 1991

Its a shame the Beezer annual isn't still going...it gave comic artists a chance to draw something different to there usual characters.
Lots of experiments...zaniness..fun!
I'm collecting these super annuals.

Bob Dewar who drew Sting..The Three Bears...

His last work he did for The Beano.

The Three Bears from The Beano comic.

His work is fresh and new looking even though he had this style in the 70's.

the zany ones he did in the 2 in 1 comic Beezer and Topper of the 90's.

Two zanys from The Beano annual.

This really is memorable..I'd say Bobs best work..loved looking over this as a kid...Great Biffo gag! Gross Fatty Bear joke...Beano 1988 annual.

One off character from The Beano annual 1988.

From Plug comic number 2 1977. Bob sure loved drawing rounded animals..lots of circles....also lots of bright colours.

The Beezers became Sting later on in The Beezer.he also starred in the Beezer and Topper comic in the 90's. Heres a cartoon drawing of the artist!

From the zany Beezer an Topper

Love the one offs he did in the 2 in 1 comic Beezer and Topper 1992...this joke works for adults as well as kids very funny.

He also drew Bimbo in Bimbo comic of the 60's....please could someone send a scan of a comic page so I can show it here thank you.
