Covers need to be drawn more part 2 The Dandy
Here are some great clear, fun drawn, different Dandy covers from just a few years ago. The image is clear and not cluttered and really make them stand out. I miss this on todays front cover of The Dandy which relys more on photos of celebrities and an overload of writing. When the comic was a pull out I threw away the rest with the boring cover. The cover does not grab me like it used to. These are just my own thoughts......what do you think?
It was better when each artist had a go at the cover....
Jak covers are fine But I liked it more when each artist had a go

I think that hand-drawn covers are a nice departure from boring reality...I love COMICS mostly because they provide an escape [momentarily] from everyday drudgery, and the best examples are from talented cartoonists with a strong, unique vision.
----CGI tries to produce cartoons that look like photos, [which had great novelty factor at first] but I feel there will always be an outlet of some kind for traditional, hand-drawn comics....ISPYSHHHGUY.
I agree about CGI it can't do extreem poses like 2D...
John K's (Ren and Stimpy creator) blog is great for pointing all this out.
Adverts which if looked properly are very badly animated...actually no animation at all...
Like the Churchill dog insurance ad... also the 1066 cgi Norman all thse characters do is blink!!
We've got so used to bland we end up thinking this is good...
When ads were 2d they were so much more fun...like Crest bear

the joke and voice are fine the animation is zero
TEX AVERY is my favourite ANIMATION director, PETER......he had brilliant animators like PRESTON BLAIR, but TEX'S comic outlook and crazy gags wiped the floor with the opposition.......his MGM especially is absolutely fantastic, and why there isn't a DVD set of this work available [even in the U.S.] is beyond me.
